Andrey Makarevich: It's a pity, I wasn't able to be at the festival this time, but I'm glad that I took part in work. It pleased me much to know that I was chosen as a jury's chairman. I can say, that we worked hard and fairly.
Valdis Pelsh : Your wishes to contestants, nominators, winners
Andrey Makarevich: I would like to wish luck to every participant, not depending on, if he would get a prize or wouldn't; I'd like to thank them for participation in our festival, as they all do fine work, and speaking about skill, either participants are well up in their class or they'll soon achieve it. Good dives and perfect shooting!

"Underwater cinematography is very important for diving's development, as who has never yet dived can see this beauty on TV. And, probably after that, some of these people will join the club, get a certificate, learn to dive and enter the world of diving not only to make dives, but also to shoot, and perhaps, to make photos."

Charlie Oldfield (Great Britain) is a winner in nomination "Big Trip" with the film "Secrets of Southern Australia"





Valdis Pelsh - opens an envelop with the name of a winner in nomination "Best TV Program".







Valeriy Skvorchov (Russia, TV company REN-TV) is a winner in nomination "Best TV Program" with the film "Red divers".
"I'd like to thank the diving association, as it estimated my film at its true worth. It's a second mark. The first one was from our eldest brothers - old divers. After seeing the film they were on the verge of tears.
I'd like to thank my friends from Underwater Club of Moscow State University, who some years ago just by force took me out of TV journalism and allowed to make films on general, everlasting, kind themes."

Balashova Natalya - president of the festival of underwater pictures "Silver shark", general director of research-and-production enterprise "Katran". She presents a prize in nomination "Best film about animals".




The film "Arctic" (made by a Swedish company "Whater proof") became a winner in nomination "Best film about animals".
I'd like to thank a competent jury and my college, who for the most part, made this film.




Alexander Levandovskiy presents a prize in nomination "Diving in Russian waters"
"This nomination is very important for divers and diving in our country, because shooting in our cold waters is rather difficult, but nevertheless people find themes, shoot our ponds, our nature and animals, attracting attention of divers all over the world."


Vyacheslav Saruchev (Ukraine) is a winner in nomination "Diving in Russian waters" with the film "Following the trace of disappeared flotilla"
"The film is made together with the Institute of Underwater Research in Zaporozhye. Now, we work under a new project on rescue of a brigantine of the XVIII century, found in the district of island Khortis (Zaporozhye)."



Igor Efremov presents a prize in nomination "Wreck"
"As I'm an operator, I understand, that it's difficult to shoot on the sunken ships, to choose light and angle, to choose direction of shooting."





The film "Memories of Salem Express" (made by Russian company ANO "Underwater Expeditions") became a winner in nomination "Wreck".
Mikhail Safonov - general director of the companies' group "Underwater world" and president of underwater association "Underwater expeditions" gets the prize.
"I think, in comparison with last year and last festival, percentage of Russian winners has a little decreased this year. But it's not because our films became worse, it's because this festival became much more popular abroad. Very many perfect films all over abroad were sent to the festival.
…I think the more people will dive here and go in for diving, the better and more perfect films will be. It seems to me these facts are interconnected.
I'd like to thank everybody."

John Boyle (Great Britain) is a winner in nomination "Best Camera Work" with the film "Undersea Homes".







Oleg Bozhok (company "Videoton") presents a special prize of the festival "Diving 2004" for the most original idea of an underwater film - for the film "Underwater defile".
"Organizing Committee of the festival, had watched all the films, decided that this film should be marked and that's why a special prize - for the most original idea of an underwater film was instituted. "



Boris Kolchov is a possessor of a special prize of the festival.
"Television is a collective work, collective labour and the film, where there is an underwater shooting, is even a double collective work. It's very pleasant to get a prize for all, who shot this film, who took part in its creation. "

Alexander Lubimov opens an envelop with the name of a winner in nomination "Grand-Prix"

"Grand-Prix" of the contest "Black Pearl" was awarded to Kiefner Ralf and Kiefner Andrea Ramalho (Germaniy & Brasil) for the film "Beyond Fear - communicating with Great White Sharks"
"We are happy to be here, in Moscow. It is a very beautiful city with pleasant people. Thanks."
