On its last voyage the vessel departed from England on September, 1941 loaded with the ammunition for the purposes of the Eighth British army. Having sailed around Africa and left 12000 miles of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, "Tistlegorm" dropped its anchor not far from the entrance to the Suez Canal on October, 6th, 1941.
